Pepper was a dog who liked a calm. He liked cuddles in the evenings and to bark at the daily inept burgler who seemed to leave pieces of paper rather than taking anything. (Pepper was rather proud of the fact that this intruder was so afraid of his fierce bark that they never dared step foot in the house) Pepper enjoyed all manners of treats and to be scratched just right.Pepper did not like surprises.
The puppy peaked cautiously around the corner. Inch by inch it eased into the empty room. Well, it had been empty. There was a blur of movement “No! Pepper, no!” A shrill voice cheeped in a terrifying war-cry. A tiny bundle of feathers and attitude dive-bombed the terrified poodle. The little blue bird was scolding at the top of its voice. “No Pepper!”
Did Geoffie have to do this for sport? Wasn’t there some other poor innocent creature he could terrorize?“No!” Geoffie chirped again as if in answerPepper did the only wise thing possible in such a situation: He ran.
